Helping Blind Cats "See" a future

Little Ming was found by an angel starving on the streets of Phoenix, Az. She noticed a little cat, thin as a rail, not walking right and knew she needed help.

She took her to the vet and discovered she was a very old cat (over 10)(Actually my vet thinks more like 20 years old!), and that she was blind. She got her her shots, got her ear mites treated and went to the internet to try to find a home for her. (she has large dogs that wanted to eat the cat).

She put Ming on a plane and flew her to us.

Off to the vet we went and got her a much needed dental, antibiotics (she had a massive infection of some kind) spayed her (I shudder to think of how many kittens she has had in her life time!!)

She is doing better now and is gaining weight. What an absolutely sweet cat she is. I wish she could talk and tell us what had happened to her that she found herself homeless at this late time in her life. She is atleast safe now, no more hungry times for this little girl.

9/7/06   Today we took Ming to the vet after she skipped supper and breakfast. She looked like she was not feeling good. The vet did a senior blood panel so we could see what is going on with her system. The results were devastating! She was in full kidney failure. We discussed options for treatment and we discussed quality of life. The vet felt like we would not be able to give her quality of life with the treatment she would have to endure and it would not change the bottom line, she was dying and she was suffering. After alot of tears and prayers, we held her as she crossed over the rainbow bridge. We shall miss her sweet spirt, I wish we had known her longer.
