SLADE

Slade became blind when he was kicked in the head by a horse.  His family decided that they did not want him any more.  He had always been an outside cat  and now, because he is blind, he must be kept inside.  The father said it was because he was always trying to go outside and it was hard keeping him in the house.  What is funny is that he has made no attempts to go out any doors, he does not seem to have the comprehension to do so. This was the daughters cat and she was going off to college  wanted to make sure he was going to be safe before she left.   I suspect that the fact that he also had no comprehension to use a litter box,  would walk thru food and water bowls, poop on the floor and skate thru it probley had alot to do with getting rid of him.   Slade is a friendly fellow who is showing signs of brain damange from his head injury.

2/2/2008  Slade was laying unconcious but very alive this morning...he appears like he has had a stroke....the difficult decision was made to euthanize him.  He could not stand or anything else.     Good bye sweet fellow... he was a nice little guy.
