Manxi
2013 This sweet little girl was dumped by her family at Animal Control in Dallas Texas. (A VERY high kill shelter!) We discovered she has high blood pressure when we to her to the vet. Hypertension will take a cat’s sight and the sad thing is, if it has been immediately treated the odds are high the blindness would have reversed. She had also not been fixed. Our guess is her former family just didn’t want to bother taking her to the vet instead dropped her off at the pound. She is very lucky that the volunteers and employees really liked her and worked very hard to raise the money to fly her to us. 4 Paws up for Dallas Animal Services for caring so much!! She is very sweet and settling in. She is not fond of the other cats. Update, she is adjusting well. Gets along ok with the other cats, still isn’t crazy about them, but no longer smacking and growling at them.

8/6/2017 Manxi has been fighting bad health for the last few weeks. She had been in and out of the hospital several times in the last few weeks. Her health continued to deteriorate. Last night the night staff left me a note that she had urinated in the middle of the floor several times last night and had just laid in it. The morning she showed zero interest in eating. This is not quality of life. It was clearly time to let her go. She was a feisty old lady, gave us lots of smiles over the years. We were blessed to have had the opportunity to love her for the last 4 years.
