Her Animal Control Picture
5/2012  Abbey is 14 years old, blind and dumped at pound by her family that she had lived with for her whole life!!  Lucky for her she landed at a decent facility that reached out to the community and tried to place her instead of immediately euthanizing her which is legal in our state.  (the law says if the animal is an owner surrender, sick, injured or blind the animal may be destroyed immediately)  We immediately took her to the vet to get her eyes taken care of and a much needed dental. She is still shell shocked as you would be if you had just lost your home, your entire family and everything you had ever known.  She is a very sweet little lady who deserved better from her first family.  She has a forever home now with us. Update, after a lot of time and love she has adjusted and is doing well.  You may watch Abbey live on Tuesday on  http://ustream.tv/blindcatrescue  and 24 hours a day on  MeShare
Abbey was so depressed after losing her home she stopped eating.  We had a feeding tube put in and worked hard to convince her she was loved and would never lose her home again.
With feeding tube.
After Surgery
