Crystal
11/2016  Crystal was found by a good samaritan in Florida.  She took her to the vet and discovered she is leukemia positive.  She started desperately looking for a place for her to go.  She found a “rescue” in Florida that said would accept her but on her way there she discovered they are actually a hoarder.  (Folks, if they will not let you come to their place,  you need to start asking questions of why?)  They called her and said she couldn’t come to their shelter, they had to meet them some place else.  That raised enough alarms in her mind (thank goodness because I know where she was going).  She was messaging with another friend on Facebook that got online with me to see if we could take the cat.  We require more testing to prove a cat is really positive (often they are false positives) She took the cat back to her vet to be properly tested and arranged for a transporter to bring the cat to us. There is a reason we have all the cameras for you to watch and live tours and stream.  We want you to see how the cats are cared for. She is very scared,  there is some question of how much she can see.  She is going for a badly needed dental next week and then will finally move into her room. Sponsored by Carolyn - Thank you! 7/13/2017  This is a very sad letter to be writing this morning. Crystal is a leukemia positive cat who came to us 8 months ago after being found by a good Samaritan.  She has been struggling with her health for the last week or 2.  She had lost weight, was barely eating and yesterday was showing respiratory problems.  We took her to the vet and she spent last night there while we waited on extensive blood work. Her blood work this morning showed us very little question that we were dealing with FIP which is 100 fatal at this time.  We could have waited a few days before letting her go but she was showing signs that she was in pain and she was not eating.  The vet and I felt that her quality of life was now to the point that it was kinder to let her go.  She went very quickly and peacefully.   We were blessed to have known her for 8 months,  she was very sweet and will be missed. I am sorry!! alana
