Elvira
4/18/2018 Elvira is a blind kitty who is still pretty shell shocked at the changes in her life. Her 2nd owner loved her very much and made plans for her if she passed away. Sadly that happened. She had made financial arrangements to pay for her care. Her friend took both Elvira and her other kitty. Several months later he has had a change in his life and is moving into a assisted living home. He started looking for a place to take the cats. In her 3 short years of life, we will be her 4th home. We agreed to take both cats because they are friends but he felt that he wanted and inside/outside home for the other cat because that was what he was use to. We were not able to honor that request so he is making other arrangements for the friend. Elvira is approx 3 years old, is in good condition and very friendly. We hope she will make friends with her new room mates. Update: You may watch her live on her Live kitty cam HERE She is in Room 3 Sponsored by Miriam - Thank you! Sponsored by Karaline - Thank you! We knew we were dealing with cancer. 2 weeks ago she began coughing and choking on solid foods. We of course took her to the vet. The vet did not find anything obstructing her esophagus and gave us a referral to the speciality vet in Raleigh. I took her to Raleigh and they did some tests but wanted to do a special test that she had an appointment for coming up. This morning the coughing and choking has become much worse, she is now in respiratory distress. The vets are all stumped and she is now suffering. The vets all felt that this was an issue that was either a mechanical/nerve problem and that they did not feel that there was a surgical way to fix this. No matter what happens, we did not feel it was going to change the ultimate outcome, we were going to lose her and again, she is suffering. The vet and I agreed it was time to let her go and send her over the rainbow bridge. Elivra was a very sweet kitty who loved to sit in your lap, play with catnip toys and lay in the sun. We will miss her very much.
