Lovey
2/18 Lovey is a very sweet old lady who found herself homeless in Florida. Someone found her wandering the neighborhood and took her to the local rescue. Bless them, they took her in. They felt they were not equipped to care for her properly and had not been successful finding a foster home for her. She was living in the bathroom of their adoption center. Bless them, they reached out to us to see if we could find space for her. Davica, our fly angel stepped in again to help and fly Lovey first class to us. Bill picked her up at the airport in the Raleigh and drove her to us. She is a super sweet, a real purr machine. You may watch her live on her live cat camera here, she is in House 1, Room 1 Sponsored by Rachel - Thank you! Sponsored by Bhavana - Thank you! Sponsored by John - Thank you! 2/23/2021 Sweet Lovey came to us 3 years ago as a very senior kitty who was living on the streets of Miami. She of course was hypertensive.  We are pretty sure that was what caused her blindness.   As she aged, she developed hyperthyroidism and kidney disease.  Last year she developed heart disease. (She was being treated for everything)  Last week she went to the vet and her congestive heart disease numbers were off the charts.  She had pitting edema in her legs and fluid in his chest and abdomen.  We added more medications and more lasix to try to pull the fluid out. Today her feet were swollen 3 times the size of normal,  she had so much fluid in her abdomen that her belly fat touched the floor and she was starting to have problems breathing.   I took her to the vet to see if there was anything else we could do to help her.  She was at the maximum dose of Lasix,  we were out of things to do to help her.  The decision was made to let her go before she was suffocating from the fluid. I sat and held her and pet her for about 30 minutes at the vet with her giving head butts and lots of purring and then the vet sent her over the rainbow bridge.   She went on a decent day. She was a sweet old girl who loved to be loved on. She will be missed.  We were blessed to have been able to give her 3 years.
