Rayne
2007 Here is the letter I got from her previous owner:
“I rescued a cat thought to be blind thinking I would just go to a
humane society (We have 3) but they refused the cat calling her
unadoptable She loves to purr, curl in bed with me, get lots of
hugs and pets, play with our cats at high speed up and down stairs
and halls, gets around w/out any trouble I do not want her killed,
I want her with cats and children and forever playtime She is only
about a year. I have too many cats already or I would keep her,
and my kids are soon college bound not school age,
Can you please help "
She put her on a plane from California and sent her to us.
Rayne was deemed unadoptable because she was blind and black.
She had no hope for any shelter out there to take her and not
put her to sleep. Sad because she is an absolutely loving little
girl who loves nothing more than to rub all over you or be in
your lap.

1/16/2014 Rayne had been sick for the last few weeks and at the
vets office several times. She finally got over the upper respiratory
infection and then started showing neurological problems., she was unable to use
her front leg. We took her back to the vets office and x-rays, blood work and a
chiropractic adjustment was done. We were giving her anti-inflammatory
medications and taking a wait and see position for a few days... we were
not sure if she had a soft tissue injury or brain. All x-rays were negative.
Today she is much worse, she is unable to use her legs on one side of
her body...it is obviously progressing. The sad decision was made to
hold her as she returned to her maker. She was so very sweet at the end
and kissed me goodbye as I held her. We will always remember her :)
