Sylvester
3/18/2017  This kitty is a friendly fellow that was living in an outside colony in Orlando, Florida, when someone found him with a bad bite wound and brought him to Orange County Animal Services. Orange County treated his wound, tested him and he turned out to be Leukemia positive.  Normally they would have put him down right away, but he was eartipped so per their agreement they contacted the local TNR group to come bail him out. The woman from CARE Feline TNR found someone to foster him temporarily until she found a permanent home or rescue to take him. After much searching with no success, she had a friend contact us. His bite wound left him with a very large hernia that was not repaired.  His surgery pre-blood work showed he is very anemic.  It would be to dangerous to do surgery right now.  (This is why it is so important you do pre-surgery blood work.) We are now treating the cause of the anemia and will try again in 2 weeks. He is a big love bug, very talkative, seriously does not like being in quarantine. He is enjoying living inside, regular food and a soft bed.
