Tom
3/2016  Tom was living as an out door cat to a family that fed him.  He apparently had a bad fight with another animal (we are guessing cat) and when they noticed he was injured and was skin and bones they took him to the vet. Tom tests FELV+,   The family had a lot going on in their personal life (someone in the hospital in critical condition and had other cats.  They needed a place for him to go ASAP. Tom is a very very sweet cat!  He is in horrible shape,  very thin, will need surgery on his lets/feet that were horribly injured so he can walk without being in pain. There are not lots of shelters that give sanctuary to FELV+ kitties especially in our state.  He would have been immediately killed at an animal control facility. Their vet was suggesting euthanizing him also.  We are happy we were able to save his life. 4/16/2016 Tom came in with serious injuries.  The orthopedic specialists felt, once they had him on the surgery table that the damage was so bad on one leg that the only thing to do was to remove the leg.   He is doing wonderful adjusting 2 being a tripod.

8/23/2016  Sweet loving Tom has been fighting for his health for the last month.  He would spike 106 fevers.  He was at the vets office several times as the vet struggled to figure out what was wrong with him.  Today it clearly showed itself. FIP.    The decision was made to not make him suffer any more treatments etc.  You can not beat FIP,  it always wins. Dear Sweet Tom had his leg amuptated, had to take lots of medicine, multiple trips to the vet and never once did he complain.  He was always sweet and loving. You touched our lives Tom, we will never forget you.
