2008  Pooh is an 8 year old beautiful chocolate point Siamese. His owner gave him up because she had gotten in over her head "rescuing" cats. According to her husband, who brought Pooh to us, she had over 40 cats in the house, was unable to keep up with the sanitation to his standards and he had given her an ultimatum that either the cats went or she could get out and take them with her.  When he arrived her arrived sick.  He has an upper respiratory infection, eye infection and either an ear infection or ear mites (he just got here, he will go to the vet on Monday).  He had no vet records other than a combo test and rabies test from the previous owner. He loves to be pet, loves to brushed, hates to be picked up,  hates taking his medicine, fights you tooth and nail when you try putting his eye drops. Update:  We got him healthy,  he has gotten friendlier although he still hates to be picked up and forget doing his nails.    He is not overly fond of the other cats, fights with them a lot. He is crated during the day and shares the lobby with Maggie in the evening.  It seems to be a good compromise for everyone. Sponsored by Frank - Thank you!! Sponsored by Mary - Thank you!! 5/29/2014  Pooh has been diagnosed with kidney disease a few weeks ago when he went for his yearly checkup.  We hoped to manage it with fluids and medication.  Tuesday he returned to the vet because he was not eating and obviously  doing worse.  His blood values were worse, phosphorus so  high the meter could not measure. (kind of like when you check a diabetic and the meter just reads high)  The vet tried  fluids  and phosphorous binders to try to bring the numbers down and a feeding tube was placed to give him nourishment.  He also had some kind of infection and IV antibiotics were started. His blood work 2 days later was much worse instead of improved.  Pooh had the look,  he had enough. I held him as he returned to his maker. The vet felt he was approx. 14 years old.  We were blessed to have him with us for 6 years.
