Letter to you from the director:Hi all, for you that do not know me, I am Alana, the chief pooper scooper and head cat :) And as you haveseen in our newsletters I have a warped sense of humor occasionally. I am also known for ding crazy thingsfor the cats such as shaving my head and jumpingoff of a high platform onto an air bag.In January we laid out what our goals for 2015. I wanted to share a status report with you.** Continue helping blind, FIV+ & FELV+ cats CHECK! We have taken in many new cats as space has come available. We have cross- posted more than 150 cats on social media and have been told that approx 80% of them have found homes or rescues. Our cross posts have contributed to their success.** Provide spay/neuter services for 1500 cats. IN PROGRESS - As of 6/30 we have provided care for 692 cats. We are almost 1/2 way there.** Provide O2 masks to our local fire stations to help save lives. IN PROGRESS - That is our newest fund raiser. We want to deliver them in September in time for our 10th Birthday!** Begin fund raising to build another building to provide care for more blind & leukemia positive cats. IN PROGRESS - We have raised approx 28% of what we need.Our 5 year goal includes by 2020 starting a low costspay neuter clinic.I was taught as a child that is our job to leave this worldbetter than it was when we came in. With your helpwe can help the lives of many helpless animals.Your support is critical. Please consider a generousgift today if you can. Our fund raisers are below.

Cat Updates
Snicker is still on antibiotics. They feelhe still has not cleared the pneumonia.More x-rays in a month. He is eating welland does not act like he has any distress.
I spent a lot of time in Raleigh last week and thisweek with the cats.
Sasha’s time is coming to the end with us.Her abdomen is swelling. Her respiratoryrate is increased. She is still eating a lot!I will let her tell me when it is time. I expectit to be in the next few days.
Autumn is doing well.
Morris needs his eyes re-done. He has developed2 holes in the stitched area. The ophthalmolgistfeels there was occular tissue left behind. (by ourformer vet not our current vet) so he is going to infor surgery late August.
Wifi is doing well. He is eating 2 large cans offood a day on his own. He is going to be neuterednext week and if continues doing well, will bejoining the Ustream Wednesday room. He willhave x-rays ect again early October and the wirein his jaw removed if all has healed. The Raleighvets were pleased with his progress.
Casey had a thorascopic assisted right caudallung lobectomy. Her bill was $4860.She is home, doing ok. NOT happy at allhaving to be in a cage (She is not allowed to be with the other cats for 2 weeks) and NOThappy at all with the soft cone of shame (to keep herfrom messing with her stitches.
Knowing CPR for humans and your petis very important. Here is a diagramI hope you can print it off

A late update, Boots has been having some health issues.He has had x-rays, blood work and an ultra sound, noneof them giving us a clue other than the ultra sound showingsome signs on Irritable Bowel Disease. The vet suggesteda new blood test that is able to tell you if you are dealingwith inflammation or cancer. I have done some readingon the test and it appears to be pretty accurate. Bootsis very positive for cancer. We are going to examine ouroptions.
