Boba was found roaming the streets of Greenville, NC, where a lovely lady
trapped him and took him in to get fixed. During that process, he tested
positive for feline leukemia. His rescuer had previously adopted cats with
feline leukemia, so she knew his chances of getting a shot at adoption were
zero. She did not want him to be euthanized either, so she reached out to us to
be his forever home! We thank her for adopting leukemia cats, Trap-Neuter-
Release work in her community, and for going above and beyond to find Boba
a forever home! Boba is a very loving boy who quickly captures all hearts!
We know already that he loves catnip, ALL kinds of food, and, most of all,
affection!

Dear Supporters,
I’m writing with a heavy heart to share some unexpected and sorrowful news.
Yesterday afternoon, our staff noticed that Boba wasn't acting like himself, and when
we took his temperature, we found he had a low-grade fever and pale gums. We
made him comfortable for the night, but this morning, after a visit to the vet and
some bloodwork, we learned he has Aplastic anemia. We believe in allowing our
cats to pass with dignity, and while Boba remained his sweet self, the bloodwork
revealed a different story. I held him in my arms, and we watched the birds at the
feeders together. It’s heartbreaking to say goodbye. Cats are incredibly strong and
often hide their feelings, and just a few months ago, he received a clean bill of health
at his check-up. So this comes with such a shock to us all.
Boba was our little outdoorsman, always lounging on the catio, observing the wildlife
that came by. He loved to help his roommate, Tiana, hunt down any bugs or lizards
that wandered in—an amazing wingman. He also had a fondness for churu treats,
devouring them so quickly to keep them all for himself. We will deeply miss his fluffy
tummy traps and his playful antics, but we are forever grateful for the time we shared
with him here at Blind Cat Rescue.
I am so sorry,
Sam
