King is a handsome 3-year-old FeLV-positive boy with the heart of a gentle giant. He was living
in a community cat colony when a dedicated trapper noticed something special about him, while
the other cats kept their distance, King walked right up with sweetness and trust. She was able to
safely capture him, bring him home, and get him fully vetted and neutered. After a positive FeLV
snap test, further PCR/Quantum testing confirmed his FeLV status, and he was welcomed into our
BCR family for lifelong love and care.
King is a true tomcat sweetheart, full of affection and charm. He’s especially famous for one
thing, his absolute obsession with Churu! He takes his treat time very seriously and follows a
strict “regimen” of being thoroughly spoiled with his favorite squeezables. With his easygoing
nature, playful spirit, and loving personality, King has quickly become a staff favorite. We’re
honored to give this special boy the forever home he deserves.

Dear supporters,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share that King crossed the rainbow bridge late yesterday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, King was taken for a dental consultation where he received a full medical workup. During his
exam, the veterinarian gently let us know that, based on his condition and overall health, King was likely much
older than his original paperwork indicated, possibly closer to 13 years old. True to his nature, he was the very
best boy throughout his appointment, calm and cooperative, and we were soon on our way back to the Sanctuary.
Later that afternoon, King experienced a sudden medical episode. At this time, it is unclear whether it was a
seizure or a stroke. There had been no indication earlier in the day that anything was wrong, which makes this
loss all the more unexpected. To better understand what happened and to bring some closure, we have chosen to
have a necropsy performed.
Although King was only with us for a short time at Blind Cat Rescue, he knew nothing but love, safety, and
compassion here. After coming off the streets of Raleigh as a tomcat, he made an effortless transition into
sanctuary life, quickly earning the nickname “Churu King” thanks to his sweet, laidback personality. He truly
was the gentlest soul, and it was an honor to care for him and to share his special spirit with all of you.
While our time with him was far too short, King was given the golden life he deserved. That was only possible
because of you, his incredible sponsors and supporters. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making his
final chapter one filled with comfort, dignity, and love.
With a heavy heart,
Sam
