Ozzy
Blind Gender: Male Approximate age: Arrived From: Arrival Day: November 2023 Ozzy came in an unusual way. A man arrived at BCR with a cat trying to find him a forever home. This man’s family had taken him in after his owners, their elderly grandparents, had passed away. The man said Ozzy wasn’t getting along with the other animals in the home. We knew exactly what would happen to Ozzy if he was dumped in a shelter and, even though we weren’t expecting him, we took him in. Despite what we were told, Ozzy has been the perfect addition to the BCR family! He’s a very affectionate guy and loves his catnip! We’re thankful that Ozzy came to us and that we can offer him a safe and loving forever home. You may watch him on our 24-hour live cameras in House 2, Room 4. You can watch HERE.
3-3-2025 Dear Supporters, It is with heavy hearts that we write this letter to inform you of the passing of our beloved Ozzy, who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. This is a letter we never expected to write so soon, and it has left us with a deep sense of sadness. Ozzy had so many years ahead of him, and we truly believed he would be with us for much longer. It all started just like any other day. The staff had just finished grooming the cats and tending to their ears and nails when they went into the rooms to spend some quality time with them. It was then that they noticed Ozzy wasn’t able to walk. Without hesitation, they alerted Alyson, who rushed to the vet as Ozzy showed signs of throwing a clot. When Alyson arrived, they immediately began triaging him, but he was already in critical condition and in immense pain. With love and compassion, Alyson was by his side, offering comfort as he peacefully crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. We will miss Ozzy dearly – his silly antics, his playful nature, and the joy of seeing him cuddling with his friends. Ozzy brought so much sunshine into our lives and into the lives of everyone around him, and we are incredibly grateful to have had him with us, even for a short while. We also want to take a moment to thank you for giving Ozzy the loving forever home he so deserved. He came to us in an unusual way – a man arrived at BCR with him, hoping to find him a home. The man explained that his family had taken Ozzy in after his elderly grandparents passed away, but that he wasn’t getting along with the other animals in the home. We knew that, without help, Ozzy’s future would be uncertain. Even though we weren't expecting him, we took him in, and he became an irreplaceable part of the BCR family. Despite the challenging start, Ozzy thrived in our care. He was affectionate, sweet, and loved his catnip – just a big, lovable goof. We are thankful that Ozzy came to us and that we were able to offer him the safe, loving home he needed. And we know that he felt the same love from you. We are deeply sorry for your loss, and our hearts are with you during this difficult time. Ozzy’s spirit will forever live on in our hearts, and we are grateful that you gave him the love and comfort he deserved in his final years. He will never be forgotten. With heartfelt sympathy, Sam
