1/2023 Inca is leukemia positive. She was found by a traveling nurse in a colony that was being fed. She was being beaten up by the other cats and was very friendly so she brought her home with the intentions of giving her a home. And then she tested leukemia positive. She has other cats at home and did not want to expose them. She worked very very hard to find someone who could take Inca in and care for her. She had taken her for lots of medical care and you can tell she really cares for her. She is severely anemic which we hope is being cause by hemobart and will reverse with treatment. Right now her behavior does not give us any reason to think she is in any discomfort. She is very sweet. Sponsored by Bhavana - Thank you! 1/30/2023 Meet Inca, she came to us a few weeks ago from a traveling nurse who lives locally. She is also leukemia positive. She had taken her to 3 different vets trying to help this kitty, she had severe pitting edema in all of her limbs. We took her and started getting her additional medical tests done. They showed that her kidneys were not functioning properly thus the severe edema. We could draw it off (the vets tried) her feet were huge and she was in pain, she had stopped eating, and this was not quality of life. 2 of the 3 vets felt strongly that it was lymphoma. We are having a necropsy done to see what we were fighting with. She was a super sweet friendly little girl who purred like crazy and was always happy to see you come into the room. I just wish we had had more time with her and been able to fix her. I am so sorry.
