Callie
3/2017 Callie is leukemia positive (FELV+) She was brought in to our vets office to be spayed. When she tested positive and was advised that she would need to be kept separate from the owners other cats the owner said to euthanize her. My vet will not kill a healthy friendly cat. She negotiated with the owner for her to sign over the cat and let her find a place for her to live out her life. We had a space open and that is how she has come to live with us. She is a super sweet friendly kitty with the softest fur you have ever felt. She is very talkative!

7/20/2017 RIP CALLIE - This is the letter I sent to her sponsors: This is a letter I am really shocked that I am writing so soon. The last couple of days Little Callie had stopped talking to us and running amuck around the room. We knew something was up with her but she was still eating so we decided to wait until today (Our regular weekly vet day). Her blood work was pretty normal, nothing there, BUT her abdominal x-ray, OMG! There in front of us was a huge tumor wrapped around her intestines. Her gums were also very pale. The vet felt she was bleeding into it. Being a little leukemia kitty, we knew there was no fixing this. I held her as she quietly returned to her maker. She was such a sweet little girl with the softest fur. She will be missed by all that knew her. I wish we had had years instead of the months we had.
