I had been asked about doing a video of how to clipthe cats nails. I made you a short one of how we do it with Mack and Gallie. Please do not beat yourself up to much if you cannot do your cats nails by yourself. I promise wehave a few that it takes 2 of us to do. We have 2that can only be done at the vets office. I did giveyou a tip or 2 that might help you be able to do your cat.
Meet Greta
Little Greta came to us as a kitten in early 2007 from anAnimal Control Facility in South Carolina. She was verysick with an upper respiratory infection. She was luckythat she was also very sweet and the animal control officertook her home with her to foster her while she tried to find a place that would take her. Greta was on the top of the list to be killed the next morning because she was sick.Little Greta owes her life to that Officer that really wanted to save her. She had a severe upper respiratory infection that cost her eyesight.
A picture of her when she first arrived. A sick little tortie.
We got her healthy and she flourished.
A cute video of her taken October 2007 prancingwith a pink ball. Keep in mind, she has no eyes.
Another cute video of her as a baby playing with Walter (may he rest in peace)
The last few months she has been struggling with her health. She had a feeding tube, we got her better and she did well for a few months. She was hospitalized 2 weeks ago andwe have another feeding tube. She is perky, does notbehave as if she is in any pain but our vet does not have a clue what is wrong with her. She has appointment tobe seen in Raleigh on Wednesday. If she gets worse wecan take her in as an emergency.
Major went for his chemo this week but his blood count was too low. It happens. He does not behave as if he is in any pain, is eatingwell. His oncologist said that his last ultra scan shows the tumoris shrinking.
If you follow us on Facebook or Ustream you probablyalready know that Chance lost his battle with liverdisease. He became progressively worse andafter a lot of soul searching and talking to the vetsthe decision was made to let him go. We arewaiting for a full necrospy to find out what on earthwe were fighting.
A video we made to celebrate his life.
He was quite the character.
The lobby seems quiet without him. You could not put anything on the dryer or counters without him swatting it of. Snicker & the staffmiss him.
We are trying Snicker in the Saturday room with Emily andsome of the other cats that come out in the lobby to play with him.He seems to be doing ok in there and if he continues to not fight we may try putting him in there full time.
We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
