Coconut
7/2018 Coconut is a leukemia positive kitten.
Coconut was found as a little fellow after he climbed into a
families truck. He apparently had climbed into the motor.
When they arrived home they hear him crying. After taking
the dashboard apart they found him covered in dirt but
surprisingly unharmed. They said you could not have told he
was a white kitten.
They were going to keep him, he is a super sweet friendly fellow.
BUT when they took him to the vet he test positive for leukemia.
The vet told them to bring him back in a month and test again.
That test was also positive. The contacted us asking if we could
give him a home because they had other cats and he is positive
etc. We tested him again with both the eliza (positive) and
the IFA test (also positive)
He is a fun playful fellow. We hope he has good years ahead.
You may watch him live on his pet camera at

He is in House 2, Room 4.

2/13/2020 RIP Coconut
RIP Coconut - Little Coconut is a leukemia positive cat who
came to us in July of 2018 as a young kitten who had been
found inside a truck dashboard. They had to dismantle it to
get it out and were surprised when they washed him to find
that he was actually white.
2 weeks ago he started losing weight (the cats are weighed
weekly, we can quickly spot when there is a problem, and
most problems start with weight loss) Off to the vet he went.
The following week he had an ultrasound that showed we
were dealing with kidney cancer. We knew that our time was
going to become very short with him.
We brought him home to love on him for the time we had left.
Tuesday he returned to the vet running a high fever and weight
loss continuing even though he was still eating. We hospitalized
him to see if we could get his fever under control and get in
front of what was going on with him. We needed to see if this
was connected to the kidney cancer. Blood work 24 hours apart
showed how bad he had developed non-regenerative anemia.
His bone marrow was not working now.
I knew today I was doing to have to maybe make a hard decision,
so with a lot of soul searching and many discussions with the
vets, the decision was made to let him go. He went quietly in
my arms.
Coconut was a fun fellow fellow who loved to play, run his
wheel, chase the laser. Now he joins the others from his room
over the bridge. Rest in peace little guy, we sure will miss you!
