2/19 Creamsicle is a super sweet fellow who came to us from our vets office after he was rescued by another rescue from our local animal control center. He tested leukemia positive. We don’t know how he landed at animal control but we are glad to be able to help him. He is very sweet!! A few months after he arrived he test negative for both FELV & FIV. We were also told he was approx 2 years old. 8/2020 He has tested positive for hyperthyroid which means he is actually more in the 8-10 year age range. Because he is in decent health with no underlying health conditions, he is receiving radiation treatment to cure him.

3/9/2023 This is a letter that I just can not wrap my head around that I am writing today. As many of you know, Cremesicle has had so many medical problems over the last few years. . He developed a severe autoimmune disease that caused him severe skin problems over the last few years which we were treating. He also developed hyperthyroidism which we were treating. He had a short time of good health and then the autoimmune disease decided to attack a different part of his body. He had horrible blisters in his mouth and on his nose. He had a biopsy on them and they came back as a severe infection which we were treating. But it was just not getting any better. We had him at the vet so many times. He was back at the vet today and they needed to put him under anesthesia to try to remove the huge growth on his nose so he could breathe better and examine the inside of his mouth. Sadly he did not do well under anesthesia. The vet did everything possible but sadly he died. Looking at the pictures of the inside of his mouth, I really think he had oral cancer. We are having a necropsy done to see what on earth it was. I just can't believe he is gone. He was such a sweet fellow and a big purr machine. He loved to be brushed and loved on. I just feel horrible that had I not taken him to the vet today he would still be alive. Sadly he would still be in horrible pain though. Taking him was the right thing but it breaks my heart that this was the outcome.
