FELV+
Gender: Male
Approximate age: 3 years (as of 2025)
Arrived From: Greenville, North Carolina
Arrival Day: January 2023
Eric was trapped by a TNR volunteer with six other kittens, all whom
were FeLV+. Sadly, five of them passed away and the rescue worked
hard to find homes for one others. The kittens had arrived during
kitten season (which is really all the time any more) and the foster
home they were in was needed for healthy kittens that could be
adopted. So, Eric came to BCR! He’s grown into a beautiful cat who
is fun and very friendly and like to stay on the move!

Dear Supporters,
It is with heavy hearts that we share that Eric has crossed the Rainbow
Bridge.
As you know, Eric was diagnosed with carcinoma in his nasal cavity, and
we had been closely monitoring his comfort and quality of life. This past
week, the medication we started helped reduce his inflammation and truly
gave him a beautiful stretch of good days. Eric was playing, eating well,
and soaking up all the love around him. He even had special visits from
supporters and former Blind Cat Rescue caretakers, which made his week
all the more meaningful. It was a gift to see him so bright and happy.
Today, we began to notice his appetite decreasing, which is often the first
sign for us that their time is nearing. While he was still enjoying the
sunshine and curling up in his favorite soft donut beds, we knew in our
hearts that it was time to say goodbye before things became more difficult
for him. We strongly believe in letting them go on a good day, surrounded
by love, dignity, and comfort.
Eric had a wonderful three years here, filled with care, companionship,
and so much affection. His playful antics and sweet spirit brought joy to
everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by all of us.
We are so incredibly grateful to you for the love and support you gave
Eric. Because of you, he knew what it meant to be safe, cherished, and
truly loved.
With heartfelt thanks and sympathy,
Sam
