Flower
Blind Gender: Female Approximate age: 10 years old (as of 2025) Arrived From: Miami, Florida Arrival Day: November 1, 2025 The earlier years of Flowers story we may never know, but we do know that from the day she was saved from the side of a busy road, was the start of the rest of her life where she will know nothing but love and compassion. Flower had been discovered after a trapper had been out doing TNR (trap, neuter, and release) and found her. The side of the road in a manhole is no place for a blind senior kitty to be. Flower was scooped up and brought to safety. It was discovered that she is spayed. Likely meaning she was someone’s cat at one point, but unfortunately left to fend for herself outside. Flower quickly started to blossom, hence the reason for her beautiful name. Flower’s foster mom and many other incredbile people worked hard to help find her a place to call home. That’s when one of them reached out to us and thank goodness we had room! From there we were quickly able to get in touch with our Flight Angel, Davica. Most of you know that Davica is a flight attendent who has helped numerous kitties make their flight to BCR, as well as many other animals. Davica wasn’t able to personally fly Flower to us, but her loving husband, Aniss, offered to step in her place. We cannot express our gratitude for both of their amazing love and support.

4/11/2026 Dear Supporters, It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news that Flower has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. This morning, when we went in for breakfast, we could tell Flower was not herself. We rushed her to the vet right away, where diagnostics confirmed that her heart and kidney conditions had progressed. With everything she was facing, the kindest and most compassionate decision was to let her go peacefully and without suffering. We believe she was likely much older than we had originally thought. While our time with Flower was far shorter than we ever hoped, it was truly a blessing to witness her transformation. When she was first found, blind, terrified, and alone on the side of a busy road, life had not been kind to her. But here, she learned what it meant to feel safe. We watched Flower blossom. She traded fear for comfort, curling into soft, fluffy beds. She enjoyed her special diet and never turned down a Churu treat. She loved soaking up the sunshine on her favorite scratcher, wrapped in the safety she had always deserved. In her final moments, she was held close, offering gentle head bumps and purring softly, a reminder of the love she both gave and received. Though her time here was brief, Flower knew what it meant to be loved. She had a forever home. She was no longer alone, no longer afraid. She was cherished. Her medical journey was complex. After extensive diagnostics, she was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a heart murmur, and kidney disease. With your support, we were able to provide her with the care she needed, medications, a specialized renal diet, and ongoing monitoring, ensuring her remaining time was filled with comfort and dignity. We are so grateful to each of you for your love and support. Because of you, Flower’s story did not end on the side of a road. It ended in a place of warmth, compassion, and peace. Thank you for helping us give her the life and the love she always deserved. With heartfelt gratitude, Sam
