Georgia
2013 Georgia was rescued from a very high kill animal control center in Georgia. She is another one that shows that it takes a village sometimes. We were notified by someone on Facebook that she was in animal control and in danger. We contracted Jody (one of our board members that lives in Georgia) She went to Animal Control and picked her up. Jody took her to her vet to get her spayed and her eyes taken care of, etc and a few days later a very nice Ustream viewer and her husband drove her to us. She is very sweet but a bit shy. Update, she is a super sweet little girl, has chunked up some :) You may watch her on her life camera 24 hours a day.. she is in house 5 HERE
In the car on her way to us. She had her eyes done a few days before coming.

5/25/2022 RIP Georgia This is a letter I am shocked to be writing. Georgia had developed polyps deep in her ears. They were causing her problems and often bleeding. We took her to a surgeon in Raleigh who does these operations often and they agreed hers were bad enough that they needed to come out. I took her for her surgery yesterday (Wednesday). The surgeon called afterwards and said she did well, was awake and would be monitored during the evening and we would pick her up today (Thursday). They are a 24 hour emergency hospital also. They called me at 10:30 pm (Wednesday night) to tell me that she had passed away. She was fine 15 minutes before, sitting up and acting normal. We suspect that she threw a blood clot. We will be having a necropsy. Sadly there are always risks from surgery with humans and cats. Her blood work gave us no reason to think there would be a problem. Her surgeon called me this morning (Thursday) and was very upset. She said everything had gone smoothly and had no complications. She doesn't understand why Georgia had passed away either. Georgia was a very sweet loving kitty who loved to play with Wifi. She loved for us to sit and love on her. For 9 years we were lucky to have been loved by her. She will be missed by all. I am so sorry!
