Grizzly
Blind Gender: Male Approximate age: Arrived From: Knox, Indiana Arrival Day: March 20, 2025
Rescued in early 2025, he was brought to us from a difficult situation. His incredible advocate, with a heart full of love, drove all the way from Indiana to give Grizzly a chance at a life filled with affection, compassion, and freedom from pain. After recently moving into a new home, Grizzly was unaware that the property already had eight cats living there. Without hesitation, he immediately began the process of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). He earned their trust and successfully found homes for all of them, including his own. Grizzly would show up regularly to eat and take advantage of the heated shed he had set up for any strays passing through. However, he would only stay briefly, coming and going for weeks, making it difficult to trap him. Eventually, Grizzly’s eyes began to redden, and he instinctively knew he needed help. He was captured and taken to the vet the beginning of March, who prescribed antibiotics but also advised that he would need an eye removal. Upon his arrival at our care, we immediately took him to our vet, who confirmed that there was no saving his eyes. Due to the severity and rapid progression of his condition, it is likely cancer. From the moment he arrived, Grizzly quickly became known for his sweet and gentle nature. Despite enduring neglect in the past, he remains an affectionate and loving soul. Grizzly is one of the fortunate ones who found safety and love, thanks to a devoted cat lover who was able to catch him and bring him here, where he can finally experience the care he deserves. He is getting a surgery 3/25/2025 to for a full enucleation due to his eyes being in horrible shape. Further testing will be done to test for cancer.
