Lynx
3/2020 Lynx is a leukemia positive kitty who came to us from a humane society in Alabama. A volunteer reached out to us with the following message in answer to some questions from me. “ He is positive. He has been living in a 2x2 kennel in a quarantine closet with no natural light, interaction, etc. Literally, he is in the laundry room closet next to the washing machine. He has ZERO Life quality. He is very loving but everyone is afraid to touch him.” OMG, that poor cat! He has been there for a few months living in those conditions! In their defense they did not kill him which is pretty normal for many “humane societies” with a leukemia positive cat and they did spend the money to properly test him for us to take him. A volunteer and her finance drove over 10 hours to ring him to us. He is a super sweet cat, totally chilled. He loves humans, likes other cats but boy does he dislike dogs. (They had told us that in one of their emails. He was growling like crazy at the dogs at our vets office when he went in to be checked over. You may watch him 24 hours a day LIVE on his live camera HERE He is in Building 2, room 2.

10/1/2020 RIP Lynx Sweet Lynx came to us 7 months ago after living in a tiny cage for months, stuck in a laundry room with no natural light, no human contact, nothing at a shelter.  A volunteer reached out to us to see if we could take him,  she knew that was not quality of life for him.  A volunteer drove 10 hours to bring him to us. We knew a few weeks ago this day was racing towards us and there was nothing we could do to stop it.  The leukemia was awake, he was anemic and losing weight.  He still had energy, he was still eating,  he still had a little time. Today we took him back to the vet to see how his blood work looked, he was losing weight but still eating..  His mouth was pale, his gums white. I sadly knew what the answer was going to be.  The blood work showed today needed to be his day.   There is no fixing this for a leukemia positive kitty.  I held him in my arms as he crossed over the rainbow bridge.  Leukemia always wins in the end. He was such a sweet cat.  We are very glad he was able to have 7 months of living outside of a cage and knowing what it was like to be loved and cared for.  He will be missed.
