A week after he arrived. He looks much better.
Blind Gender: Male Approximate age: Arrived From: Scotland County, NC Arrival Day: 2011 Mickey came to us as a tiny kitten from the high-kill Scotland County Humane Society where he had been dumped at night in their outside drop-off box. Poor Mickey was very sick with a severe upper respiratory infection. They realized no one was going to come looking for this little fellow so immediately released him to us. When we picked him up, he was so sick he had stopped eating. He went right to our vet and right away began antibiotic treatment for the respiratory infection and his ear infections. At BCR he got a flea bath because he was infested with them. It took two days for Mickey to feel better and start eating on his own. If Mickey’s original owner had just gotten him treatment for his upper respiratory infection, he would have his eyes. However, being blind has not stopped Mickey in any way from enjoying his life. He’s one of the most loving cats at BCR and has a wonderful personality. He loves to sit in laps and knead! You can watch Mickey on our live 24-hour cameras is in House 2, Room 3. HERE
