Parker
6/2018
Parker has a convoluted story that makes little sense to me, (I suspect I have not been told all the facts but but the bottom line is she was abandoned by her owners outside in the winter while the temps were in the 20’s. Some how a rescue got involved. They found an adoptive home for her. She tested Leukemia positive. The adoption fell through, the people did not want a positive cat. They has several others indicate interest in her but being FELV+ no one wanted her. They needed a place for this cat to go. She is a super sweet friendly playful little girl. Loves to play :) You may watch her 24 hours a day LIVE on her pet camera. She is in house 2, room 2.

1/31/19 This is a totally unexpected letter to be writing today. Parker came to us 6 months ago after living outside and failed adoptions. She is a super sweet friendly girl. She is also leukemia positive. She has been fighting for her health for the last month with some kind of infection that the vets just could not get in front of. Vet visits and tons of different medicines and not getting any better. She has been hospitalized for the last couple of days. Today the vet called and said she was unable to stand and support herself. Her complete back end was involved. I said I was on the way. The vet did not feel this was a saddle thrombosis, her feet were warm, she still had feeling and pulses in them. Whatever this was involved her spinal cord. More x-rays were done and they showed us nothing, but she could not stand and she was in pain and crying. We made the decision to let her go. I know in my heart it was the right one. I could have taken her to the specialist in Raleigh and made her endure a 2-hour car ride and thousands of dollars of tests, but I truly do not think it was going to change our outcome. I think we would have forced her to endure more pain etc and still lose her. She went quietly in my arms. Parker was a very sweet friendly girl who loved to play. She will be missed.
