Peach came to us from another rescue after he was found as a stray.
He tested positive for leukemia and the rescue kept him for around five months
with no hope of adoption and was having to live in an adoption cage with no room
to run or play. They reached out to us in hopes of finding him a better quality of
life where he can play and have all of the love. A lovely volunteer drove him down
to us and he is settling in nicely!

Dear Supporters,
We were not expecting to be writing this today and we share our deepest
condolences. Peach Has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. When we came in
this morning we noticed that Peach had irregular breathing patterns. We took
him to the vet and immediately ordered x-rays and blood work. To our horror,
his lungs were filled with fluid enough so that could easily make out the four
lobes that make up his lungs. and couldn’t see his heart. His liver also had a
mass and the liver itself was abnormally shaped and enlarged. The vet and I
agreed that putting him under sedation was too high of risk to attempt to pull
the fluids of his lungs given his state.
Peach was more than likely dealing with a very aggressive cancer and the
fluid would of reoccurred in days. We understand that this is a shock. We wish
we could turn the clock so we can have more options.
Cats are so resilient and we wish they could tell us how they are feeling.
Peach had eaten very well and was his normal day to day shenanigans over
the past week.
Peach came to us from another rescue in November after he was found as a
stray. He tested positive for Leukemia and the rescue kept him for around 5
months with no hope for adoption. He was kept in an adoption cage with no
room to run and play. They reached out to us in hopes of finding a better
quality of life where he can play and have all the love.
Although we yearn to have given him much longer to have a good life as a
BCR kitty we were able to do so the last two months because of you.
I’m so sorry,
Sam
