Poppy came to BCR along with her brother Jamie (who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in XXXX) after both were rescued from being strays in the streets ofNew York City - not a safe environment. The very king woman who rescuedthem both realized she couldn’t keep them and called us and we were very happyto welcome these tiny kittens to BCR. She also made a very nice donation tocover their immediate care needs. Which were serious. When they arrived, both Poppy and Jamie had very infected and ulcerated eye probably fromuntreated upper respiratory infection. Once they were old enough and weightedenough they had surgery to remove their eyes. In years since she came, Poppy has grown to be very sweet and loving girl with a big personality. She isextremely friendly and loves to climb on shoulders! She’s also been knownto be a bit of a hairdresser! You can catch Poppy riding on someone’s shoulders on our live24-hour cameras in House 2, Room 2. You can watch HERE.
