Stacy
3/18 Stacy was rescued at a construction site. Her rescuer took her to the local shelter in hopes that she would be adopted. He kept in close touch with the shelter to make sure she would not be euthanized. Sadly when Stacy test FELV+ the shelter told him that she was going to be euthanized if other arrangements were not made. Lucky for Stacy, her rescuer and his wife are sponsors of one of our other kitties and contacted us. Ron went back to animal control to get her and drove 5 hours to bring her to us. Stacy has lots of bad health issues going on so we do not know how long she will be with us but we will love her while she is here. She has masses in her lungs and her abdomen. She is eating like crazy, does not seem to be unhappy. She is very sweet. Sponsored by Ron and Stacy - Thank you! Sponsored by Gayle - Thank you! Sponsored by Lewanda - Thank you! Sponsored by Wendy - Thank you! Sponsored by Sarah - Thank you!
6-13-18 When we took Stacy in we took her immediately to the vet for a full physical, blood, x-rays etc. All incoming cats get this so we know how to help them and make sure they are healthy. Often the cats have bird shot etc that show up in the x-rays. When we saw her first x-rays we knew we would be a hospice situation for her. She was leukemia positive and full of tumors. We honestly only expected her to be with us for a very short time. She has made it 3 months. Her tumors are very large, she is in pain, she fights us trying to give her the pain meds. She is starting to show signs of respiratory problems as the tumors take up space for her lungs. It is time to let her go. We firmly believe in quality of life, it is better to go on a good day than a bad day. In other words, let them go before they suffer. I do not want her to suffer, she suffered enough before she came to us. She spent yesterday having all the staff spending extra time with her, loving on her for her last day. Today she and I made the final trip to the vet together. She went very quietly. She was a sweet gentle soul and will be missed. I am so sorry alana
