WIFI
7/2015 Wifi was rescued by an angel after he was hit by a car in New York City. She took him to an emergency vet and later transferred him to one that had CT equipment. He had head injuries. They got him stabilized and wired back together but could not release him until she had a place for him to go. Many thousands of dollars later, (We did help with this bill) She drove over 11 hours to bring him to us. She was unable to keep him. He owes his very life to her. He is blind from the injury. He has a feeing tube and is healing. Is a very nice fellow. Still needs shots, neutering etc. Will be going back to our specialty vet later in the month for another Ct scan. His name came about by one of our Facebook fans. Wifi because he wants to be wireless. You got to admit, it is cute :)
the morning after he arrived
A few days later
2017 - Update Wifi’s injuries healed and he is doing well. He is a very friendly cat, has made lots of kitty friends. You often will find him curled up in beds with others snuggling.
8-30-2023 It pains us to inform everyone that Wifi has passed over the rainbow bridge. We are in utter shock and wish we had more answers at this time. We will be getting a necropsy done so we can have an answer to why he left us so soon. In early May, Wifi had his first check-up for the year. We couldn’t ask for better blood work and were given a clean bill of health. Since then, he's had no changes in his eating habits and maintained a healthy body weight with no weight loss. Until yesterday morning we had no reason for concern. Yesterday morning cats were fed around 7:10 am. Wifi ate very well having several bowls to himself. By 8 am during morning meds it was brought to our attention that he sounded very congested and was drooling. We immediately put him into a carrier and off to the vet we went. He was under heavy supervision, fluids, and an antibiotic drip all day. At 5:40 pm last night we received a dreaded phone call from the vet. His symptoms were expediently worse than the morning. Alana rushed to the vet to see him. He was weak and tired and his health was continuing to decline. Alana held him in her arms and gave one last sweet WiFi meow as he passed the rainbow bridge. On behalf of Wifi, Alana, all residents of Blind Cat Rescue, and their staff we want to thank you for the love and support that you shared and cherished on his behalf. Our deepest condolences,
