Julie
5/30/2023 Julie is a leukemia positive kitty who came to us
from a local shelter where she has been growing up in a cage.
The shelter manager had no housing for a FELV cat, no adoption
opportunities and did not feel that was quality of life. We agree.
She loves to be pet but is a bit shy about coming to you for it.
We are working on her.

This is a totally unexpected letter to be writing today.
Sweet Julie was acting a bit off yesterday (late afternoon) she was eating and
drinking, her temperature was normal, but we noticed her gums were pale. We felt
that this was not a life-threatening last night, and we would reassess this morning. It
was late, our vet was closing and the only option would have been the emergency
vet clinic, which to be honest, is not a good choice in our town. This morning she
was alert and bright, she did eat some, but putting her on the scale, she had lost
weight and her gums were very pale. Off to the vet we went. Her blood work
showed she was very anemic. Severely, can't fix this anemic. The difference in 6
weeks is very very dramatic! The vet and I agreed that whatever going on was
something we could not fix and we sent her over the rainbow bridge. She was
kneading the air to the end.
She was a very sweet kitty who loved to play with her friend Dolly. She had become
very friendly with the humans and she loved to have her back scratched. We are so
sorry we were not able to have more time with her. She was such a sweet cat, we
know that we and Dolly will miss her very much.I am sorryAlana
