4/18 Little CiCi has had a very hard life. She came to us from a rescue in Tennessee who rescued her from animal control. She apparently had beenfound living in some kind of drainage pipe. She also had kittens. Herkittens passed away at animal control so they put another group of babieson her because she was lactating. Did I mention, she weighed 4 pounds??She was severely malnourished!! I was told the kittens passed away. When she tested FELV+ the rescue knew they needed help. They were asmall rescue with no resources for a leukemia positive cat.She is the sweetest little girl, very very friendly. You can tell she had been living outside for some time. She is now enjoying having a soft bed and plenty of food. She will get her eye holes taken care of and be spayed next week. We want to give her a little bit more time to gain weight and get over the infections she had. She thanks you so much for making it possible for her to finally be safe and taken care of.She had had her eyes taken care of and been spayed.Update: She is a feisty little girl who entertains us daily in the lobby. Sheis a very skilled bird catcher.Sponsored by Donna - Thank you!Sponsored by Gary and Donna - Thank you!Sponsored by Kelly - Thank you!Sponsored by Nanci - Thank you!Sponsored by Jenn - Thank you!Sponsored by Bunney Haven Scents - Thank you!Sponsored by William - Thank you!Sponsored by Bhavana - Thank you!Sponsored by Nina - Thank you!6/10/2020 RIP CiCiLittle Cici came to us a little over 2 years ago after being rescued from animal control by a small rescue in Tennessee. She and her babies apparently were found living in some kind of drainage ditch. While at animal control her kittens died.and they put another group of babies on her to nurse because she was lactating. Those kittens also passed away. She weighed 4 pounds and was severely malnourished!! When she tested leukemia positive the rescue reached out to us because they had no resources for a leukemia positive cat. With all she had gone through and been done to her, they strongly felt she had more than earned her right to have a chance at a life. We agreed. We got her healthy, got her eyes taken care of and for 2 years she enjoyed a carefree life with soft beds, plenty of love and food. Six weeks ago we knew we were entering our final months with her. She had begun losing weight even though she was eating and her blood work was becoming very ugly. The leukemia had awakened. Today she started mouth breathing and was running a fever. We knew the time to say goodbye was here. At the vet's office, they agreed it was time to let her go. She went quietly purring in my arms.I shall miss my evening visits with Cici. Each night when I am in the shelter to take care of the diabetics she would follow me all over the building and sit next to me patiently waiting for me to pick her up and love on her. Each night we would dance to disco :) She was an avid lizard killer and would bring her dead gifts proudly to us. She could also snatch a bird from the feeders and more than once brought them to us. She may have been blind, but she was 1 smart cookie. Being a lobby cat, she kept the staff on their toes and entertained everyone daily. She will be missed. We were blessed to have 2 years with her, we wish it had been so many more!
