1/2018 Ginger is a very friendly Leukemia positive fellow who came to us fromthe same animal control facility in South Carolina as Cookie. For unknown reasonshis family had decided they no longer wanted him and dropped him off at a high kill shelter. We are enjoying getting to know him.You may watch him Live 24 hours a day on his MeShare cameraHe is in House 2, Room 1. 4/3/2020 RIP GingerGinger arrived at BCR 1/18, leukemia positive from a high kill shelter in SC. Being Leukemia positive he was very lucky to get out of there alive.Yesterday the staff saw Ginger was just sitting in his bed shivering like he was cold. They felt him and he felt hot so his temperature was taken. 105F Off to the vet we went (this was my 3rd trip of the morning to the vet) Blood work and x-rays were done. His blood work was horrible, showed that the leukemia was absolutely in control. 2 vets and I talked about our choices and we all came to agreement that there was no successful treatment that was going to fix this. Leukemia always wins in the end. I held him in my arms as he crossed over the rainbow bridge.Ginger had the nickname of Ginger the Ninja. He was always into something. He liked to climb the screen on the door and watch you. He figured out how to open his room door and let his room mates out. It got to the point that we had to replace the door handle with a different kind. He was a fun playful fellow who will be missed.
