Ginny
9/16 We were contacted by a animal control center in Pennsylvania asking us to take a senior blind cat. We featured her on Facebook first to give her a chance to find a home. Sadly no one wanted an old blind cat with medical problems. We knew when we saw her picture she had hypertension and the odds are very good that she would also have kidney issues. Thanks to the help of several wonderful people (Thanks Seth & Katherine!) she now has a forever home. She is a minimum of 10 years old, we think 15 is closer to accurate. She was immediately taken to the vet and we were correct about her medical issues. She is now being treated for hypertension and a bad UTI. She is a very sweet quiet kitty who loves to be pet and just wants to hang out.

9/7/2017 Today was a very sad day as we said goodbye to sweet Ginny. Ginny had severe kidney disease and horrible arthritis. She was in pain every minute of her day. We gave her medicine to try to keep her comfortable but today it was obvious that she was really in a lot of pain and it was time to let her go. She had a good last day. She nibbled on some food, she slept on her big pillow, and she had lots of love by the staff who spent some time with her saying good bye. The vet came to the shelter and we euthanized her at home so she did not have to go through the stress and fear of the car ride. Her former family dropped her off at the pound to be killed. We were blessed to have had the opportunity to give her another year of life. One filled with love and caring. We will miss her, she was a very nice old girl who was kind to everyone.
