Marge
2008 Marge was rescued by Jennifer along with Shelly, Homer & Clementine. Marge came from a breeder who wasn’t able to sell her because she didn’t “meet breed standards”. She came with a very bad infection. Both eyes were full of pus and swollen. She was diagnosed with a viral herpes infection. After about a month of treatment she had to have her right eye removed because it was bulging and painful. She has always been a very sweet, playful little girl. If you drag something noisy in front of her, she will bat at it and catch it with her paw. Jennifer discovered quickly how hard it is to find a home for blind cats in Texas. The shelters all said they would kill them. She put them on a plane and flew them to us. Marge is a very nice lady who has become much friendly as she has gotten older. 7/29/10 We took Marge for her normal checkup and dental and were horrified to discover she had a strange growth in her mouth. The vet removed the growths and the biopsy showed they were benign. While she was there she removed her remaining eye. It was weepy and infected. We felt it would make her more comfortable to it since she had no sight in it. 2018 Update - Where on earth have the years gone? She is doing well, still very sweet and loving. You may watch her live on her live Pet cameras. She is in house 1, room 3. Sponsored by Robert - Thank you! Sponsored by Douglas - Thank you! Sponsored by Sherry - Thank you! 8/7/19 RIP Marge - This is a letter that I just can not wrap my head around to write. Please forgive me if it is a bit confusing, my heart is broken. Marge had an asthma attack last night. I gave her a good nebulizer treatment with albuterol and then took her to the vet's office. She was breathing much better. She had never presented with asthma but usually you don't know you have it until you have your first attack. Her late sister Shelly had severe asthma. Earlier this morning the vets office said this morning she had done fine during the night, no problems. An hour later I get a call from the vets office, she has taken a turn for the worse, come now. I flew to the vets office and immediately ran into the treatment center. (I am there so often, I took liberties :) We discussed alternatives, started another nebulizer treatment, gave steroids, gave other medicines and we were getting no where.. Marge was gasping for air, starving for air.. It was the most horrific thing I have ever watch.. I said enough, euthanize her now... I scooped her out of the oxygen cage, held her in my arms listening to her gasping for air, sobbing as we let her go, She was a sweet loving kitty, had been here for 10 years. She will be so very missed. She is now back with her brother and sister at the rainbow bridge. I am sorry we couldn't save you! Alana
