Paul
2006 Paul and his sister Tess were rescued in Washington DC with Serena from a hoarder situation. They were 4 weeks old when they arrived, sick and blind. They are now fat and sassy kittens who love to run and play. We were contacted by the local rescue and asked if we could please take them. Animal Control Facilities are put in a hard spot because if they accept these kind of animals, they usually must immediately euthanize them. This is why we are here, for the sick blind ones that need a real hand, no one else will take them. 10/09 Paul has been having problems with his left eye becoming constantly infected and since he had no vision with it the vet felt it would be better to just remove it. It does not seem to bother him, he still runs and plays like he always did. He is a super friendly cat who loves to be loved on.

Sponsored by Carrie & John - Thank you 8/4/2016 The letter I sent his sponsors. This is a devastating letter to be writing, One that I knew I would be writing some day but we kept hoping that it was not cancer and that we would have more time. He has been progressively getting worse. We had a feeding tube put in 2 weeks ago. He was still eating but not enough and was still losing weight. His blood count shows severe anemia. The vet and I talked this morning about doing a blood transfusion but that could kill him too. His blood work today was even worse than a week ago. His bone marrow has stopped producing any new cells, he is limp and exhausted. He has clearly had enough. Paul came to us 10 years ago as a tiny thing about 3-4 weeks old. Sick from upper respiratory infection and blind in one eye. I syringe fed him. He developed into a big loving lap cat and has entertained us and loved us for 10 years. If sit down in his room, he is the first cat to always jump in your lap. He is going to be so missed by all of us. We were so lucky to have been loved by him. I am getting ready to go to the vet to be with him for the final time as we say goodbye to him. My heart is breaking.

6/2016 Paul has become very ill, losing a lot of weight in a very short amount of time. He is eating, He is acting normal. His blood work is normal, his x-rays do not have anything jumping out at us. His ultrasound gives a strong indication of IBD or lymphoma. The vet feels it will be lymphoma. We are giving him medication for cancer. He needs your prayers.
The day before he passed.
