4/2019 Pipsqueak is a blind senior kitty who came to us from animal control in Florida. He is another kitty who shows that it takes a village sometimes to save a life. We were notified he was going to be euthanized in the animal control facility. We put a call out to Davica (our flight angel who has helped transport several kitties to us). Davica knows everyone in Florida and made some calls and quickly had lined up a foster home for him and gotten him sprung from the pound. Thanks to Maribell, Suzanne, Nicole, Wendy, Randy, Dr. Kristi & Elizabeth who all helped make this happened. Then Thorn, our transport angel met Davica at the airport in Raleigh and drove 2 hours to bring him to us. (Thank you Thorn!) He has been to our vet now and is in decent condition considering all factors. He is a super sweet old man to the humans, but is not overly fond of other cats. He is adjusting to his new reality. You may watch him live on his kitty camera. He is in Room 3

9/13/2021This is a letter I knew I would be writing soon, I just didn't know today would be the day. Pipsqueak was a senior cat. He is the only one that knows actually how old. When he came to us 2 years ago from animal control in Florida he arrived in poor condition. We got some weight on him, got him a much-needed dental, and for a while he did ok. He has been ill for many months. He had also become anemic. He had an ultrasound that showed all kinds of problems. We have tried so many treatments and so many medications. He has been going for blood work every 2 weeks and it just gets worse and worse. Today he showed just how tired he was, he wasn't eating, he was still losing weight. (He has been to the vets so many times for weight loss). it was time to say enough and let him go. We are all about the quality of life. Better to go on a good day versus a bad day. The staff spent extra time loving on him today and he and I made our final trip to the vet. I spent some extra time loving on him and then held him as he went over the rainbow bridge. He was a very sweet old fellow who loved to be held and loved on. He will be missed by all.
