Polly
1/2020 Polly is a senior blind kitty (approx 11+) who came to us from a shelter in S.C. They had taken her in as a kitten and adopted her out to a home. More than a decade later she was living as a stray and turned into them. She was microchipped by the shelter in 2009. They reached the family that adopted her, they gave her away 7 years ago. Did not know who the people are. She was found living outside as a stray and brought into the shelter because she was sick. That person relinquished her. According to her paperwork she had been very very sick during the time they had been caring for her. I will say reading her records, I am impressed with the amount of medical care the shelter gave her. They placed her in a foster home. The foster had her for about 10 months. It was their intention to help her so she could be adopted, not keep her. They recommended to the rescue that they consider asking us about accepting her since she had not been adopted and they were needing to end their foster. They did not want to see her be passed around. They are also sponsoring her. So, in her 11 years of life, she had a home, was given away, then some how ended up living on the streets being fed as a feral, placed in a foster home and now is with us. A minimum of 4 placements in 11 years. This is why we are a sanctuary, never again will she lose another home. We are her forever home.

6/24/2020 Sweet Polly came to us 6 months ago as a senior kitty from a rescue.  She had lived a hard life and had many medical problems over the years.  She has had many medical issues since she arrived with many trips to the vet and hospitalization.  She has just not been doing good no matter what we do to try to help her issues.   Today she was just not breathing right.  When I stood her up,  she took 2 steps and flopped to the floor just limp.  We headed immediately to the vets office.  After a lot of discussion the vet and I agreed we could put her through more tests, pokes with needles etc but we did not feel it was going to change our final outcome. It was time to let her go. Polly was a sweet kitty who loved head scritches...  She will be missed.
