1/27/2021 Prissy is an 18 year old blind cat that arrived today in pretty rough condition. He weighs 7.3 pounds. According to his vet records he use to be a 16 pound cat. 2 years ago he weighed 13 pounds. The owner’s son stated he had been eating like crazy but was losing weight. When I took him out of the carrier I found a very thin friendly kitty whose nail were so long that 2 of them curled into the pads of his feet. (I immediately trimmed his nails.) He was at the vet first thing in the morning. (11/28/2021) His blood work shows he is VERY hyperthyroid. He was also hypertensive (that is probably why he became blind) and he also had a mass that we are sure is cancer. 1/29/2021 This morning after breakfast he collapsed and was unable to stand. We knew his stay would be short with us but we had hoped he would have months, not days. The decision was made to let him go. I held him in my arms and sent him over the rainbow bridge.
