Sloan
9/2020 Meet Sloan - Yes Grey’s Anatomy fans, we are going there with the names.
Sloan is a friendly, leukemia & FIV positive little fellow who is so busy play it is almost impossible to get a picture of him. We will try to update to better pictures in the next day or 2. spent the night at the vets office so he could get neutered. We were very surprised to find that he has a high fever so he will be in the hospital for a fee days to get that under control. He arrived from a shelter in South Carolina with Derek and Meredith.

9/30/2020 RIP Sloan
Little Sloan arrived a few weeks ago from a shelter in SC. Leukemia positive and cute as a bug we were excited to get to know him. A few days after he arrived he spiked a fever of over 105 and was put in the hospital. I knew at that time his stay we not going to be a long one with us. We got the fever under control, he got neutered and came home to enjoy his life. He loved, played, and wrestled with his brother. A few days ago I could see all the signs that we were fighting with FIP. He was still eating, not in any discomfort, I was going to let him have lots of love and attention for the time he had left. His little belly was large with fluid this morning, much larger than yesterday, and running a 105.4 fever. The day had come much to fast. At the vet's office she took one look at him and agreed with me, FIP. The ultrasound confirmed his belly was full of fluid. I know there is a "cure" out there being sold to people. It is from china, almost impossible to get your hands on and is expensive, also it is not proven. I have watched people desperate to save the lives of their kitties with it and the cat dying a painful and horrific death. He is a leukemia positive kitten, the bottom line, we can not fix this for him. He got dealt an awful set of cards in life. He was lucky that he was cared for in the foster home he was in and loved like crazy with us. Sometimes in life, that is all you can ask for, to be loved and cared for, and let go when it is time. I held him in my arms as he crossed over the rainbow bridge. He was a sweetheart, with a loud purr and loved to play. I know Derek and Meredith will miss him as well as his humans will.
