Thor
7/17 Thor was found a a kitten living under a parking ramp with his feral mother and
siblings. The kind woman who found them worked hard to capture Thor along with
his brother Loki. She has been working to catch the mother and other kittens. She fell
in love with the pair and wanted to give them a home with her and her other cats, but they
tested feline leukemia positive. Heartbroken, she started looking for a good home for them
where they could stay together.
The pair came to us recently and have been adjusting well. Thor is a sweet boy like his
brother, but very shy at the moment and still getting used to humans. He and his brother
love to cuddle and play.

11/21/2017 This is a letter I completely did not expect to be writing today. Late this morning Thor
was having what sounds like a serious asthma attack. I immediately put him in the oxygen cage
with albuterol and gave him a good asthma treatment. I waited about 15-20 minutes to give the
meds a chance to really work. When we saw there was no improvement, I immediately took him to
the vet. The vet, when she heard him, said he needs a breathing treatment. The techs said I had
already done one so he was immediately x-ray'd to see why on earth he sounded like he did.
(For those that are medically inclined he had Ronchi sounds)The x-rays showed a pneumothorax,
(a lung had collapsed) his trachea was collapsing and there was a mass in his lung. No wonder
he was having problems breathing!! The vet and I discussed treatments, but with the mass there,
it was pretty much decided for us. We let him go. A kitty can go for a long time hiding an illness
until it becomes to much. I was in the room with him last night and did not hear him having
problems breathing. (Believe me, we heard it this morning, a lung can collapse like that)
He was such an interesting fellow and was finally becoming more friendly. Now he is back with
his brother Loki and Mr. Stubbs. I am so sorry!
