William
William is a leukemia positive kitty who who came to us from an Animal Control with 2 other kittens. They all arrived sick with upper respiratory (which is pretty normal from animal control.) He is super friendly and playful. You may watch him live on our live cameras. He is in House 2, Room 4

Writing this letter this morning breaks my heart. Sweet William, who is leukemipositiveie, has been in the hospital for the last 5 days spiking very high fevers (105-107) His blood work was actually very normal so it was not giving us a clue what was going on. He did have some bacterial fluid in his lungs. The vets were throwing tons of medicine at him trying to fight back whatever it was that was attacking him. And through it all, he kept purring and was eating like a champ. The vets and I discussed euthanzing him on Friday but after I held him and I talked to him and I watched him happily eating, I just did not believe he was ready to go. So long as he was willing to keep fighting, we were willing to keep fighting for him. Saturday the vets and I talked again, he was eating, purring and still running fevers. We would keep fighting. Early this morning his body could not fight anymore. He crashed, was in serious respiratory distress and the vet euthanized him. He was such a sweet little fellow who got dealt a really bad set of cards. We were so blessed to have known him for the few months we had with him. He will be very missed by all. I am sorry
2/22/2019 RIP William
