Caroline
4/2018 Caroline came from a horrible hoarding situation. 24 cats were found on a farm starving, eating rocks and debris to stay alive. The x-rays confirm it. Craziest thing I have ever seen! The rescue involved in rescuing the cat put a call out for help. All of the cats were very sick and testing leukemia positive. We contacted them and said we would take the 2 sickest. I had them immediately take them to an emergency vet (it was over a holiday weekend) to begin treating them and try to save their lives. Caroline was very thin (3 1/2 pounds) anemic from fleas, and had a very bad upper respiratory infection. With all the bad things that have happened to her and the medicine she is having to take she is a super friendly little girl and is healing nicely. She still needs to get spayed and will settle into her room in another week or 2. Sponsored by Deb - Thank you! Sponsored by Patricia - Thank you! Sponsored by Rex - Thank you! 01/08/19 RIP Caroline This is a hard email to write but not totally unexpected. Caroline came to us positive for FELV from a horrendous hoarding situation where she was eating rocks to survive. So far, she has managed to live a good life with us despite the that and presence of cancer. Sadly, the leukemia is now winning the battle and Caroline’s condition has been deteriorating for the past few weeks. Our philosophy is not to let a cat suffer. It’s better to go on a good day than a bad one. It was time to let her go. We were blessed to be able to give her eight months of a secure and happy life where she got lots of love. I held her as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We will all miss this beautiful girl who overcame so much and was so talkative and sweet.

She was so unhappy in a room with the other cats we felt it was better for both her and the other cats.
