Casper
2007 Casper was brought to us from a wonderful lady from NY, NY. She had adopted him and her other cats (nicknamed “The Queen Bees” absolutely hated this wild playful kitten. She wanted to find a cat sanctuary for him where he would be loved and taken care of. Not only did she fly personally with him to us but also gave us a large donation to help us build our first cat house and is sponsoring him for life. You may watch him live 24 hours a day on his MESHARE camera. He is in house 1, room 4 2019 - Fast Forward over a decade later. Casper is becoming a senior kitty. He has serious kidney issues and receives fluids every day. He remains a super sweet friendly fellow who loves everyone. Sponsored by Wendy - Thank you! Sponsored by Bhavana - Thank you! Over 13 years ago sweet Casper came to live with us as an older kitten. Sweet as a bug, we grew to love him. He had such a sweet personality, loved humans, catnip and other cats. Fast forward many years later, he developed kidney disease. For the last 2 years he has patiently sat through daily fluids and some pretty awful tasting medicine. He never lost his sweet nature. Along with his failing kidneys, he has developed a mass in his lung. He had been to the vet numerous times including being hospitalized last week. The vet and I agreed that the time was close and we would let him go when he said enough. Today was the day. We believe that a cat should be allowed to live with dignity and we will let them go when the time comes. We believe it is better to go on a good day verses a bad day. Today he spent his last day being loved on with the staff, cuddling with his friends and sitting in the sun listening to the birds. It was a decent day. He and I sat and cuddled for a little while at the vet's office and then he went quietly in my arms. Casper was such a sweet fellow who had been in our lives for so long, it will feel strange without him. He will be missed.
