PI
3/2019 - Pi came to us from a vet tech in Georgia who has been
saving cats who live around the dumpster at her local Pizza
Hut. The tech took her to work, checked for a microchip (there
was not one), and gave her a snap test, which showed she was
leukemia positive.
The tech has cats of her own and did not feel safe bringing a
positive cat into her house. The vet would only let her stay there
for a short time so the clock started ticking. The tech retested her
with the proper test (the IFA test) and she was still positive.
She reached out to us to see if we could take this kitty. The tech
got her spayed and shots and drove her seven hours each way
to bring her to us!
She came to us on national PI day thus her name, Pi.
Pi is very sweet, adjusting to the other cats and doing well at this time.

1/16/2020 Pi was a leukemia positive kitty who came to us in
March of 2019. She had been living outside of a Pizza Hut
begging for food.
When she arrived we knew she had some major issues going.
Based on all of her tests and ultrasound, the vet told us a
guarded long term prognosis is warranted. Chemo meds
were begun.
Last week she was hospitalized with breathing issues. Her
X-rays did not look good. She was stabilized and returned
home with some more meds.
Today it was clear that we had reached the end of our journey
with her. She was ready. She went quietly over the rainbow
in my arms.
She was a very sweet friendly girl who loved to sit in laps.
She will be missed.
I am sorry
