Russell
Blind Gender: Male Approximate age: 12 Arrived From: Sanford, North Carlina Arrival Day: September 1, 2026 Russell’s story begins on the streets of Sanford, North Carolina, where he was found abandoned and eventually picked up by animal control. After Russell was found, people reached out to us who believed they knew some of his history. We learned that Russell had previously lived outside, in a situation where life had not always been kind to him. He deserved so much better than the life he had known. Despite everything Russell has been through, he is an incredibly sweet, loving boy. He hasn’t let his past change his gentle spirit, and we are so thankful that his days of wondering where he belongs are finally over. Russell came to us needing quite a bit of basic medical care. He had an upper respiratory infection, needed vaccinations and deworming, and still needed to be neutered. On September 9, 2026, Russell is receiving his neuter surgery. Once he has had time to recover and settle in, he will return to the veterinarian in about a month to have his eyes corrected. For now, we’re taking everything one step at a time and giving Russell all the care, comfort, and love he deserves. Once he is medically cleared, Russell will join the kitties in Room 3 and officially begin the next chapter of his life. No more streets. No more being unwanted. No more wondering if he is safe. Welcome home, Russell.
