Boomer
7/2018 Sweet Boomer is a very friendly fellow who came to us from Miami. Another lucky kitty
that got to fly first class with Davica. Wonderful Thorn and her mother drove a 220 mile round
trip to pick him up at the airport and bring him to us.
Boomer is leukemia positive. He was rescued starving off the streets by a kind lady who saves
many cats. She was having severe marriage problems and her husband was becoming more
abusive. She needed a safe place for Boomer to go. There are few leukemia shelters, he was
lucky that because of our wonderful supporters, we were adding on to our shelter and would
be able to accept more leukemia positive cats.
He is a super sweet fellow who is still adjusting to another change in his world.

3/23/2020 RIP Boomer
This is a very difficult letter to write.
18 months ago sweet Boomer flew into our lives with our fly Angel Davica after being
rescued from a domestic abuse situation in Miami. With the help of our road Angel
Thorn he arrived to be with us, finally safe.
Being a leukemia positive cat we knew that our time with him would never be as long
as our hearts would want. A month ago Boomer started struggling with his health.
He had severe weakness that was making it difficult for him to walk. The vets tried
range of motion exercises, electrical pulse therapy 3 times a day, acupuncture and
chiropractic treatments. We tried different medications to try to treat a cause that we
had no clue was. Yesterday it was clear that it was time to let him go. He was in
pain, he just laid in his bed and could basically only crawl. This is not quality of life
and treatments were not making anything better.
He and I went to the vet and he peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge in my arms.
Boomer was a very sweet friendly fellow who will be missed by all who knew him.
