5/2014 Ernest is a polydactyl so of course was named after Earnest Hemmingway :) Earnest is a approx 1-2 years old and FELV+ from Georgia. The owner had found him as a stray and he was rejected from 16 shelters and rescues. This is part of her email to me “ Fast forward- three weeks went by and we returned to the vet for shots and tests which gave me the bad news of FELV+. Again, I brought him home to the shed-this time with a heavy heart. he isn’t sick and is so loving and appreciative that he needs to live. More weeks passed by and I returned to the vet for a retest (IFA) which confirmed the first results. Now I am running out of time and money. I have 5 cats, a big dog and a husband, inside a small house plus the 4 outside and am just not able to provide what he needs in a home. The weather is rapidly approaching temperatures where the shed will be an oven with it being in the sun most all day. I just can’t end his life since he is healthy now, playful and loving. My efforts to find him a suitable home have failed now so I am pleading for his life. I have attached a photo so you can see how precious he is and I promise, if you meet him he will reach out with that left paw and touch your heart. Please can you help?” Ok.. so I am a softy... that is how he came about to live with us. He is a big friendly cat to humans, he is a bit of a bully to the other cats. We hope that behavior will improve.

4/2015 Ernest has been diagnoised with dry FIP He is being treated with Poly Immunostimulant and currently doing well. FIP is a fatal disease, but right now the medicine is managing it.
5/29/2015 Today FIP won. I held him as he returned to his maker He had approx 10 good weeks with FIP. He was a very nice friendly cat who you would find sleeping with the other cats often. He will be missed.
