Writing this letter is breaking my heart. Meadow has been struggling for the past month with her health. She had been to the vet numerous times and been hospitalized several times. Yesterday I took her backto the vet because she was obviously not right and appeared to be in pain. The vet had wanted to do exploratory surgery the week before based on her xrays. We had waited because she had started doingbetter so we waited. He said yesterday that he wanted to do the surgery, since she was not gettingbetter and we felt she was in pain, I agreed.During the night I received a call from the vet that she had crashed, was in respiratory distress, had become unresponsive. She felt that Meadow was suffering, she was not going to survive and sheeuthanized her. She stated that she felt that it would have been the call I would have made also. She is correct, that is exactly what I would have said. I would have never wanted Meadow to suffer. My heart is broken.. When I took her she was chirping and talking to me, I feel like she was sayingdon't do this.. I hope she was telling me that it was ok and she will be fine.. I feel so guilty... if we had just not done the surgery... She had been bouncing back and forth with being sick anddoing better, being in pain and doing better. I made the call that I feel was the best call but itsucks because that sweet loving girl is now dead. I am glad I spent a few extra minutes cuddling herand talking to her when I took her.I am so sorry.. her death will haunt me
